Donna Andreychuk

Donna Andreychuk’s love of the Canadian landscape is reflected through her large scale, expressionist works.

Born on a farm in rural Ontario, Donna Andreychuk always had a passion for art but only started painting seriously in 1999 while living in Owen Sound and inspired by the Georgian Bay landscape.

Her large-scale abstract expressionist works, based on her outdoor paintings and photographs, memory and imagination, reflect her love for the Canadian landscape and its impact on her.

Her art has been featured in many solo and group exhibitions and is included in private and corporate collections worldwide. Over the past decade it has appeared in many publications and television programs. The recipient of several awards, she is represented by several commercial galleries in Canada and the United States.

Biography Courtesy of Donna Andreychuk

I have a romantic notion of myself exploring the Canadian landscape one province at a time, with paint box in hand and a palette full of juicy oils. I enjoy plein air painting and feel that it keeps a landscape artist current and connected to the subject matter. The large studio paintings are created from and inspired by the small paintings done on location. Calling on only a fragment of colour or shape, the composition develops. I view my work as landscape-inspired expressionism.
